My practice is grounded in the belief that art can be both healing and accessible. I strive to create calm, immersive moments that invite rest, reflection, and emotional connection. Inspired by the landscapes of Western Canada, my work focuses on atmosphere, light, and colour as a means of connecting to the beauty of our natural world.
Visual overload and contrast can affect the way art is experienced. As a neurodivergent and visually challenged artist, this awareness has shaped my practice. The use of dark grounds, cooler colour palettes, and thoughtfully spaced brush strokes reduce visual intensity. Intentionally lowering contrast and visual noise, I aim to create work that is more inclusive for viewers with visual sensitivities, while remaining emotionally resonant for all audiences.
I am interested in how thoughtful visual choices can support mental well-being and encourage a
sense of groundedness and connection to subject matter.
